About RemoteRise

RemoteRise is a small, independent index of work-from-home jobs aimed squarely at people just starting their remote careers. Most remote job boards assume you already have a remote-friendly background — designers with portfolios, software engineers with GitHub profiles, marketers with three previous companies on their LinkedIn. If that doesn't describe you, those boards can feel like locked rooms.

We started RemoteRise to surface a different slice of the market: roles that hire people without a remote-work track record. Customer support, virtual assistance, content moderation, junior writing, manual quality assurance, data entry, and entry-level marketing are all categories where the day-to-day work can be learned in weeks and where companies actively recruit people from non-traditional backgrounds. That's where the vast majority of first remote jobs come from, and that's the part of the market we cover.

Where the listings come from

Every job on RemoteRise comes from a public, third-party remote-work source. Our primary feed is the Remotive public jobs API, which returns a structured JSON list of currently-open remote roles across customer service, writing, data, design, marketing, sales, product, QA, and general remote work. When the Remotive feed is unavailable or returns insufficient results, we fall back to scraping We Work Remotely's public category pages, which expose comparable listings in stable HTML.

We do not accept paid listings, sponsored placements, or featured-job upgrades. Companies cannot pay to appear on RemoteRise, and we do not have any commercial relationship with the underlying source platforms. The site is supported by display advertising only, which means we have no incentive to push you towards one employer over another.

How we frame each listing

Raw job listings can be intimidating for first-time remote workers — they're written for an audience that already knows how the hiring process works, what the jargon means, and what to expect after sending an application. We add a short framing to each listing that explains what the role typically involves day-to-day, what makes it beginner-friendly, and how to apply without falling into the common traps. The original job description is preserved verbatim below the framing so you can see exactly what the employer wrote.

Who we are not

We're not a recruiter. We never sit between you and the hiring company, never charge applicants, and never collect personal documents on behalf of employers. The "Apply" button on every listing links directly to the employer's own application page. If anyone claiming to be from RemoteRise asks for money, ID documents, or bank details before you have a signed offer letter from the employer, it isn't us — please let us know so we can investigate.

Honest limitations

An aggregator can't guarantee that every listing it surfaces is still open by the time you click through, that every employer behaves perfectly during hiring, or that every role described as "entry level" really is. We do our best to filter and frame, but the final due diligence on any specific employer is yours. Read our Avoiding Scams guide before sharing personal documents with anyone.
